WHEN STRONG GIRLS COME TOGETHER, WATCH OUT!

What is a grant? What is a grantee?

The money that we give to CHANA to use for a specific purpose is called a grant. Because CHANA is the recipient of the grant money, they are called a grantee.

Who is CHANA?

CHANA is an organization that offers a Jewish community response to the needs of those who experience abuse, trauma and neglect. They help men women and children to be safe and to feel safe. CHANA also teaches girls all around Baltimore how to have healthy dating relationships.

Can we meet the girls that get the scholarships?

The girls that we are helping are going through a difficult time and, while they defintely appreciate our help, they also need their privacy.  Therefore, we will not meet the girls we are helping.  Did you know that a very famous Jewish wise man, Hillel, taught that there were different levels of giving. One of the highest levels is giving anonymously (where the giver and the recipient don't know each other)!

CHANA will update us on how many scholarships they were able to give with our money!

How will CHANA decide who will get the camp scholarships?

CHANA will make that decision based on the needs of the girls and their families.

OUR GRANTEE - CHANA

What will CHANA do with our money?

The money that we donate together will go to CHANA to send girls from challenging home or life situations to summer camp. It is our hope that these camp scholarships will make these girls feel supported by their community and will give them a place to go to just have fun! We love camp and know how special it can be. We want to give the gift of camp to girls who need it the most.
